Color Background
In the additive system all colors mixed together make white. This is apparent during a rainbow when water droplets acting as a prism split light into smaller sections to form a rainbow. Another example would be in theatre lighting when three spotlights of yellow, red, and blue are focused on one area-- they mix to form white light.
In the subtractive system all colors mixed together form black (or maybe just a yucky brown depending on what type of paint you use). The subtractive system is what we will deal with here.
The Primary colors are red, yellow, blue. Using these three colors all other colors can be made.
Secondary colors are made by mixing two of the three primary colors together. Mixing yellow and red makes orange. Mixing red and blue makes purple. Mixing blue and yellow makes green.
Tertiary colors are made by mixing primary and secondary colors together. For example, mixing orange with yellow makes orange-yellow.
